The University of Technology Sydney Rugby League Football Club is proud
to announce that it has successfully formed a partnership with one of Australia’s
foundation Rugby League clubs, the Balmain Tigers, to now be known as the UTS
Tigers.
The Balmain Tigers current run teams in the NSW VB Cup, the
premier open age state Rugby League competition in the state, as well as the
Harold Matthews and SG Ball Junior Representative competitions. As part of their involvement in the Wests
Tigers partnership, they also currently contribute heavily to the National
Rugby League and National Youth Cup teams.
Through this new partnership, the UTS RLFC will benefit from
Balmain’s extensive experience, knowledge, skills and resources that they have
developed after years of running a successful Rugby League club, whilst also
being able to use the affiliation to help in the recruiting of University
players.
The UTS Tigers will play at Leichhardt Oval and train at
Leichhardt Oval No.2 and will play in the Tigers Uniform.
As part of the partnership, the UTS Tigers have launched a
new logo, and new website.
