ANZAC weekend looms and Saturday sees Round 3 of the Comp begin with two undefeated 1st Division sides clashing at Ollie Webb Reserve, when Sydney Uni take on home team the Cumberland Beavers. The Beavers had a bye last week so they should be fresh for a match against the early season form team in the comp, whilst their 2nd Division team will be looking to also keep its unbeaten record going.
UTS 1st Div will be putting the John McMartin Challenge Shield up for grabs when they host Lewisham Old Boys at Leichhardt Oval. Both teams are coming off second round losses so with the Macca Shiled and pride on the line, plenty of interest in this match. In 2nd Div the situation is much the same, with the Tigers up against RailCorp, both coming off losses in Round 2 and keen to post a win.
The West Sydney Blues had a break last week and now make the trip to Canberra Uni to match it with a Cows 1st Div team fresh from a big win over UTS last week. A big crowd promises to be in attendance, but the main interest there will be in the 2nd Div local derby between the Cows and new boys ANU Grizzlies.
The CSU Mungoes’ teams get the long weekend off as does the Norwest Polecats 1st Div, while their 2nd Div team travels to Newcastle and will be looking to keep its unbeaten record intact against the locals.
