The NSW Tertiary Student Rugby League is currently accepting
applications for new teams for its 2009 season.
The Tertiary League is a Saturday based Amateur Open-Age
competition featuring clubs from Newcastle, Bathurst, Sydney and in
2009, Canberra
will make its return to the league.
The League currently operates a First and Second Division
weekly competition, plus a series of Nine-a-side and Merit League fixtures
throughout the season. In 2009 the
League is also investigating the possibility of adding a Third Division, which
maybe played under the proposed new ARL Recreational Football
rules.
The League is the perfect option for any Rugby League club within
the state looking to add a senior team and participate in a completely amateur
competition.
The Tertiary League is also the only competition in the
state that can offer representative honours for its players, with City v
Country, Interstate and International fixtures all open for its participants.
