2009 Season Presentation Night

Balmain Leagues Club was the venue for the 2009 Presentation Night and a good representation from most of the clubs in the League attended, plus a small contingent of referees, with apologies from the Navy Titans, Canberra and CSU Bathurst for not being able to make it. The evening clashed with a Titan’s event and the tyranny of distance coupled with semester break prevented the other two out of towners from attending.

President John McMartin welcomed everyone and opened proceedings by introducing members of the NSWTSRL team selected to tour Serbia, departing on 28 September. Also during the evening special recognition was given to the 5 players from the competition (Adam Hansen, Simon Lakis & Brendan Lee from Sydney Uni, Andrew Moore from Uni of Newcastle and Gary Windass from Norwest) who were selected in the Australian Universities Team that toured South Africa in July. Not to be left out, the recipient of the inaugural Keith Otter Award for Best Referee, Frank Reale,

was handed his award by President McMartin and Association President Steve Wilson.

A great night was had by all, with special thanks to Paul Fraser from UTS for attending to much of the organisation of the event and to the staff of Balmain Leagues for their friendly and efficient service.
